I cannot believe how grown up this kid has gotten. He is such a big helper to me and becoming so responsible.
He is doing amazing in school. His teacher loves him and he is constantly at the top of his class. A month or so ago all the kids in his grade had to do a biography on a famous American. He chose Davey Crockett. His teacher really likes the kids to do all of the work themselves. I was so impressed and proud of how his turned out.
His soccer season went really well this fall. It was his first time playing competitive soccer and he really worked hard and improved so much. It aid off when he scored two goals in the last game of the season. He is now playing indoor soccer and is having a blast.
This kid is so handsome! This year Charlie has started learning Spanish in a dual immersion program at our elementary school. He has half the day completely in Spanish. His Spanish teacher even calls him Carlitos.
He is doing so well in school. I'm super proud of him. He does a good job of paying attention in class and always tries his hardest. He has fantastic teachers, Mrs. Budge and Senora Floyd. They appreciate him and I appreciate that. It is fun to listen to him learn Spanish and come home and talk with Dave.
He has such a strong testimony. A couple of weeks ago, during fast and testimony meeting he said he wanted to go up. I told him that he was big enough to do it by himself. He did such a wonderful job, and talked about his love for the gospel and Jesus Christ. I am so proud of him, because I know that he knows his testimony is true. He will be an amazing missionary someday.
This little guy is so cute! He talks so much and says the funniest things.
He calls Charlie, Charlitos, or sometimes he just says Litos. He calls Davey, Dadey. He is always saying that he is tiny, but he wants to be big.
He gets excited for Daddy to come home and is always the first to greet him. He is starting to play make believe with his toys and his favorite show is still Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He does like Diego, Umi Zoomi, and Bubble Guppies though.
He has become super lovable and affectionate and is always giving me hugs and kisses. He may end up being cuddly like Charlie. I can't believe he is turning 3 in just a month!
I am loving these family photos my good friend Melissa Martinson took of our family. We were getting ready to leave and Charlie said to me, "Mom, I think Chico needs to be in our pictures with us, he IS part of our family." I couldn't say no to that.
I can't believe that I actually have a 10 year old. Time has flown by. Davey is in 5th grade and an awesome student. I always say that I don't have to worry about him doing well in class. He catches on quickly and knows what he needs to do to please his teacher.
Right now he is obsessed with all things soccer. He says he wants to be a professional soccer player and loves to watch international soccer. His favorite players are Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. He also loves Real Salt Lake. A few weeks ago we surprised him and took him to an RSL game. He was in heaven.
He also loves playing Minecraft and playing with friends. It has been a fun summer of staying up late and sleeping in each morning. Luckily it hasn't been too hard getting back into the swing of things.
Doing the traditional Bolivian birthday cake face smash.
Today we went to Lagoon. Both boys had fun riding the roller coasters and were extremely brave. Charlie decided to ride the Sky Coaster which is a huge bungee ride that swings you hundreds of feet in the air.
I know I am probably biased, but this kid is the most hilarious kid I have ever met!
We went to Las Vegas for Spring Break and Dave's sister Jeanne got us some free tickets to see Jeff Civillico's "Comedy in Action." He is a juggler and a comedian and he is pretty funny. He starts out by balancing different objects on his head. He asked for a chair from the audience, and took Charlie's chair and balanced it on his chin. Then he joked that he was going to balance the chair with Charlie in it. Well, Charlie thought he was serious, so he just climbed right up on stage! Jeff thought he was pretty funny!
Later, he pulls a kid from the audience to help him spin plates. I guess since he thought Charlie was such a good sport about the chair, he decided to have him come up again. This is the video we got of Charlie spinning plates:
We happen to think he was pretty awesome.
Some other hilarious things he has said lately:
Dave: Charlie will you go get me a Diet Dr. Pepper?
Charlie: Here you go Dad! I brought you two so now you have an instant refill!!
Charlie: Mom, I love you so much!
Me: I love you too, bud.
Charlie: Sometimes, Mom, I think I should love you more!
Charlie: Mom, can I go outside and play?
Me: Not right now, you need to eat lunch first.
Charlie: (in and angry voice) Mom! On care.com it says kids should be cared for AND have fun!
Me: Charlie, that is a website for finding babysitters.
